Tripp Smith
This is the guy we should be encouraging to step up. Anyone know what his intention was in buying out the Icelandics? There must be a long term strategy.

If he could get the rest of Blackstone involved then we would be serious contenders. Yes we would become a brand but is that any worse than what we have now?

"The Icelandic’s have finally sold their remaining ten percent shareholding of West Ham United to an American billionaire called Tripp Smith.

Albert ‘Tripp’ Smith joins the board of West Ham directors to oversee his new investment.

Smith is a Senior Managing Director of The Blackstone Group and a Founder of GSO Capital Partners which he sold to Blackstone in 2008 for about $1bn.

However, Claret and Hugh understand that Smith has bought the shares personally as a private investment and not on behalf of the Blackstone Group."

Might be better off wishing for Tabor Junior than Tabor senior...Junior owns Global Radio - probably young enough to do a decent job at West Ham, if he's a fan.

I'd love it if we were run as badly as Man Utd and lLverpool.

Re: Tripp Smith
As much as i want the SPIVS gone. Yank ownership would be the death of the club. They wrote the book on how to be a parasite while running a sports club. You only need to look at Sunderland. Aston Vila. Arsenal. Even Manchester United and Liverpool could be run much better. A lot of things need sorting out with the club. But it will never get done if we had Yank owners.

Re: Tripp Smith

So basically Tabor could buy us about ten times over...

"Tabor regularly appears on the Sunday Times Rich List of the richest people in Britain. In 2012 his fortune was estimated to be £550 million;"

so no,

With calculations like that you can see why he teaches finance rather than earning money out of like someone who really understand it would do. A valuation of less that is less than 4 times the annual profit is a bit fanciful.

A football finance expert has rated West Ham United as LESS valuable than the likes of Norwich City, Aston Villa and West Brom - with the Hammers the fourth lowest of teams who competed in the 2015/16 Premier League.

It means only Swansea City, Watford and Sunderland come in at a lower overall price than the Hammers, whose total of £148m is remarkably less than double the £89.3m Manchester United shelled out on Paul Pogba last summer.

When that happens the clubs overall value will soar aling with any stake held in the club.

--------------------------------

If the stadium is bought, then there will be some severe penalties for selling up in the next 20 years or so. Also the value of the club will not necessarily go up much - the cost of maintaining the stadium will start to increase quite a bit in a few years time - something the club doesn't need to concern itself with at the moment.

Eggy... Oh all knowing messiah...You know Tabor well then?? Rough guestimate he's worth well over £2bn... and rising... his little gang of MATES (Derek Smith and John Magnier) are worth about the same... how much would you say our mighty club is worth??

In anycase that boat has sailed... he's knees deep in teh best thoroughbred breeding operation on teh 4 corners of the planet... no way would he come into football now...

MISSED THE BOAT BIGTIME
